RB Health thanks pharmacists on the frontline

In recognition of Australian pharmacies staying open and pharmacists working around the clock to prioritise the health and safety of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, RB Health says thank you with a much-needed donation.

The leading consumer healthcare company and maker of brands such as Dettol and Nurofen, has donated $10,000 to Pharmacists’ Support Services and distributed ‘Thank You’ packs to almost 4,000 Guild member pharmacies across the country.

“When it comes to the health of Australia, pharmacy teams are the first point of contact, sharing advice, providing care and reassuring all of us,” RB Health ANZ Regional Director, Glenn Cochran said.

“As Australian pharmacies support Australia, we want to support them and so this donation to Pharmacists’ Support Services alongside our thank you packs are a small way for RB Health to acknowledge the wonderful, continued work Australian pharmacy teams have continued to provide during this challenging time.”

Pharmacists’ Support Services provide assistance related to the many demands of being a pharmacist, including financial and mental health support. John Coppock, President of Pharmacists’ Support Services says RB Health’s $10,000 donation will be used to offset the increased telecommunication expenses seen due to COVID-19, and to improve communication systems for the longer term so the Service can meet the needs of the pharmacy profession.

“This donation is a gift back to the Australian pharmacy community as it will enable Pharmacists’ Support Services to enhance our support to the Australian pharmacy profession. RB Health has a strong sense of social responsibility and their products are well known in pharmacy. In this time of COVID-19 this donation to Pharmacists’ Support Services is a very appropriate way for RB Health to recognise the frontline work of pharmacy and the associated stress that pharmacists and staff are experiencing.”

Pharmacy Guild of Australia National President, George Tambassis says: “I want to thank RB Health for their generosity towards the vital work of the Pharmacists’ Support Service, and also for their recognition of the challenges and stresses that have been faced by all community pharmacies of late. It has been tough going for many pharmacy staff over the past couple of months, so their thoughtful gesture is heartening and much appreciated.”

The RB Health ‘Thank You’ packs contain Dettol, Nurofen and Strepsils product, which has otherwise been hard to come by due to increased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in need of reprieve during this time are invited to seek support from Pharmacists’ Support Services by calling 1300 244 910.
