National Pharmacies shines light on hope this Christmas

Convenience retailer OTR is supporting this year’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant to be held on 14 November at Adelaide Oval and aired on Channel 9 for home viewers.

The audience will be treated throughout the evening to a series of Christmas Carol performances by the Australian Girls’ Choir and a Light of Hope ceremony.

The Light of Hope ceremony will incorporate 400 dancers and more than 1000 candles. The audience at home and the Oval will be invited to join in with their mobile phone lights to help shine a light of hope for the future.

“Each of these new elements to the Pageant have been creatively designed to incorporate a simple, but powerful image, that shares a very important message – and that is the message of hope,” says Pageant Director, Brian Gilbertson.

“The Light of Hope will be a very moving feature of the Pageant, and one that we would encourage all families at Adelaide Oval and at home to participate in through the use of their mobile phones.”

Yasser Shahin, Executive Chair, OTR and Peregrine Corporation says that these two unique elements, which will both be presented as part of the National Pharmacies Pageant for the first time, represent the joy and community spirit of the Christmas season.

“The light of hope is set to a centrepiece of the Pageant and great symbol of optimism for South Australia, after such a challenging year for many in our community,” says Mr Shahin.

“This Year’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is about doing everything we can to bring the Christmas message of family, love, hope and joy to our state from the city to our suburbs, and regional communities,” says National Pharmacies CEO, Vito Borrello.
