GuildLink says GuildCare NG now hosts seamless integration directly to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), the national register that records vaccines given to people of all ages across Australia.
Ensuring direct integration to the AIR gives pharmacists more time with their patients as reporting requirements are made easier and faster.
Recording patient vaccination statements to the AIR is mandatory for pharmacist immunisers in Tasmania, the Northern Territory and Western Australia and is recommended in the other states and the ACT as best practice.
The AIR integration is the first of its kind in pharmacy and brings pharmacy vaccination reporting into line with other immunisation settings. In addition, it assists in removing the time-consuming double handling of patient data currently required to meet in-pharmacy and AIR recording requirements.
“GuildLink sought to bring digital solutions to pharmacists to enable continuity of care for patients across different practice settings,” GuildLink acting CEO Jannine Johnson said.
The release of this new functionality also supported pharmacists to update patient immunisation records in a timely and efficient manner.
“We’re delivering software to make it easier and more efficient for a pharmacy to deliver immunisation services,” Ms Johnson said. “We encourage all pharmacies providing immunisation services to connect with AIR.”
The latest industry-leading, cloud-based technology has been implemented to ensure data is securely and accurately uploaded to AIR, with no further reporting required for pharmacy staff.
“It’s quicker, easier and fully compliant with AIR obligations,” Ms Johnson said.
“We developed this new integration with the federal government and AIR to help pharmacists deliver immunisation services in-house.
“If your pharmacy hasn’t already, now’s the perfect time to register with AIR.
“Pharmacists can find more time to spend with their patients now their reporting obligations are significantly reduced. Early feedback is that it’s easier, quicker and more accurate than onerous manual reporting.”
Pharmacies that are registered as immunisation providers with the AIR can utilise this new integration now.
