A platform for inspiring success

On the first day of APP2023 (23 March) the Platform Alliance Group (PAG) showed that inspiring success for all pharmacists and pharmacy staff is at the heart of what they do.

What does inspiring success mean?

To PAG it means encouraging pharmacy owners and staff to fulfil their dreams and helping them to overcome challenges and obstacles they might face.

It’s about helping pharmacy owners and staff to thrive in their communities by making it simpler to run their pharmacies so they can focus on improving patient health.

“The world in which we are practising is changing rapidly – economic uncertainty, inflationary pressures and regulatory changes.

“Overall, pharmacy is a great business, and the future is bright,” Andrew Pattinson, PAG Chief Innovation Officer and facilitator of the first APP2023 panel session said.

“Whether you are starting your first or fifth pharmacy, The Platform Alliance Group will back you to deliver your vision to help your patients achieve better health expectations.

“With PAG celebrating our first birthday, we are thrilled to be supporting more than 2500 pharmacies across Australia.

“We are urging all pharmacies to start the journey to practice to their full scope – pharmacy change must start today,” he said.

‘Inspiring all pharmacies and the industry’

Speaking about the awards that were presented at the APP2023 Opening Plenary during which the Excellence in Pharmacy Innovation award was awarded to Alliance Pharmacy – Thursday Island Pharmacy, PAG CEO Dave Fenlon said it was fantastic to see the pharmacy being recognised.

“Their unique location presents immense logistical challenges in delivering healthcare to those living on Thursday Island and neighbouring islands in the northern tip of Queensland and Papua New Guinea in the Torres Strait,” Mr Fenlon said.

“Still, Mick Delaney, Luci Delaney, Carli Berrill, Caitlin Davies and Simon Reynolds have created effective ways to engage with their patients and help them with their health.

“It takes a high level of commitment and passion to achieve recognition from their patients and the industry – this is what inspiring success is all about, and we want to inspire all pharmacies and the industry.”
