CW Group hosts third annual excellence awards

Chemist Warehouse Group has virtually hosted its third awards ceremony – the 2022 CW Retail Awards for Excellence.

The annual awards celebrate the outstanding work of the community pharmacists, interns and pharmacy assistants within the pharmacy group.

This year 42 state/territory awards and two national awards were present during the ceremony.

Award recipients were nominated by their peers and from there, selected by a panel of Chemist Warehouse retail directors and senior managers.

Award categories in each state/territory included:

  • Pharmacist of the Year;
  • Preceptor of the Year;
  • Intern of the Year;
  • Pharmacy Assistant of the Year (full-time and part-time).

The National Pharmacist of the Year and National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year awards were also presented throughout the ceremony.

National Pharmacist of the Year

Haven Moushi from Victoria (CWH Preston) took out the top honour of the evening, winning the Mario Verrocchi National Pharmacist of the Year Award, named after the group’s co-founder and CEO.

Ms Moushi is described as a dedicated pharmacist who provides exceptional community pharmacy services. A true professional, leader and mentor to her team. Winning this award is a testament to Ms Moushi’s effort and dedication to not only her role as PIC at CW Preston but to the pharmacy profession as a whole.

National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year

Vida Marie Ainsworth from Western Australia (CWH Hay Street Perth) was awarded the Margaret Kinniburgh National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award.

The award is named in honour of long-standing staff member Margaret Kinniburgh who has been instrumental in evolving the Chemist Warehouse brand.

The pharmacy group says Ms Ainsworth is a worthy winner of the Margaret Kinniburgh award as she emulates the leadership qualities that inspire a generation of pharmacy assistants to better themselves while ensuring CW Hay Street Perth is the benchmark of Western Australian stores.

Celebrating drive, determination and excellence

Speaking about the awards ceremony and all of the recipients, Chemist Warehouse Group CEO, Mario Verrocchi says the group is thrilled about hosting their third annual CW Retail Awards for Excellence and celebrating the great efforts of their team across the country.

“We are constantly impressed by the drive, determination, skill and exceptional care that our team possesses and the pride they take in delivering exemplary service to our customers on a daily basis,” he said.

“The incredible work conducted by our staff has ensured all Australians have access to medicines and healthcare and we are excited to be able to honour the exceptional performers with these awards, well done to all recipients!”
