DDS launches DiscountPlus loyalty program

Discount Drug Stores is launching its newly refreshed customer loyalty program, DiscountPlus, designed to benefit customers and franchise partners alike.

The points-based program rewards customers for every dollar spent in store which can be used for instant savings on in store purchases. DiscountPlus members will also have access to exclusive member pricing, birthday vouchers and bonus offers throughout the year.

The launch of the loyalty program has been a top priority for the recently established Discount Drug Stores National Council to increase value for franchise partners and provide opportunities to maximise profits.

Franchise partners will have access to an online management portal via platform provider knowITall (KIA) to manage their store’s loyalty program, access data to facilitate a more personalised customer experience and use marketing tools to better communicate to their customers.

“We’re excited to introduce DiscountPlus as a new and rewarding point-of-difference to assist our pharmacies in improved customer retention, increase basket sizes and, more broadly, to build on the array of benefits offered to our franchise partners, says Head of Discount Drug Stores, Patrick Stoll.

“The loyalty program has been carefully crafted over the past year in consultation with our National Council to ensure that it works for our business owners at a functional level, whilst providing our customers with greater value and enhancing their experience in store.

“We’ve already had an overwhelming response from customers with more than 7,500 sign ups in the first four weeks of launch, which is really encouraging to see,” says Mr Stoll.

“We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback so far with our customers who are really excited to hear that the new loyalty program is a points-based system,” says Mandurah Discount Drug Store Retail Manager, Jacinda Crompton.

“In fact, we’re already seeing an increase in our DiscountPlus members’ in store spend and expect to see this further increase as the bonus offers become available across Super Savers and Catalogue.

“The Discount Drug Stores team have been really supportive throughout the implementation process and provided us with a range of resources, training and contacts to help us seamlessly integrate the program into our daily workflow.

“We’re always working towards providing the best value to our customers and the loyalty program is a great way for us to expand what we can offer and will assist us to provide a better in store experience for all,” she says.
