NPS names new CEO

NPS MedicineWise has appointed Steve Morris as its new CEO.

Having worked in clinical and leadership roles in the health sector spanning pharmacy practice, community and hospitals, primary care, industry and NGOs, Mr Morris was most recently accountable for the delivery of state-wide pharmacy services to the public sector in South Australia. He held dual roles as executive director SA Pharmacy and chief pharmacist for SA Health.

Originally from the UK, where he was deputy chief executive of the National Prescribing Centre, Mr Morris holds an MBA and MSc in health services research and technology assessment.

“As someone who is passionate about quality use of health technologies and the implementation of evidence-based practice, I jumped at the opportunity to head up NPS MedicineWise,” he said.

“I look forward to the journey ahead as we continue to build a medicine-wise Australia, and invite you to share your ideas and perspectives with us anytime.”
