The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) Dr Erica Sainsbury Awards recognise the pharmacists who go above and beyond to mentor, teach and inspire the next generation.
The APC encourages pharmacists, educators, interns and employers to share this opportunity across their networks and help recognise those shaping the future of pharmacy.
Nominations and applications close on 31 August 2026.
The awards celebrate those making a lasting impact on students, interns and the profession itself. Their influence extends far beyond training, helping to build a stronger future for pharmacy.
Hala Musa, recipient of the 2025 Hospital Pharmacist Supervisor Award, said the recognition was especially meaningful because of her connection to Dr Erica Sainsbury.
“It means a lot to me because Dr Erica Sainsbury actually taught me ethics and legality back in 2019 when I was a student.
“Her notes have now been passed down to future interns. It’s such an honour to receive this award.”
Hala’s story highlights how exceptional supervisors and educators can influence generations of pharmacists.
Ramy Sourial, recipient of the 2025 Community Pharmacist Supervisor Award, believes supporting future pharmacists is one of the profession’s most important responsibilities.
“This award means that the future of pharmacy is bright.
“Hopefully this inspires the next generation of pharmacists to carry the profession into bigger and better things.”
For Dr Alex Park, recipient of the 2025 Early Career Pharmacy Educator Award, the recognition reflects the importance of helping students reach their full potential.
“This award recognises the importance of all the work that I’ve been doing in supporting the students to be the best that they can be.”

- APC Dr Erica Sainsbury Early Career Pharmacy Educator Award recognises and rewards an individual who demonstrates innovation and passion in teaching and who places students first and foremost.
- APC Dr Erica Sainsbury Pharmacist Supervisor Award recognises and rewards pharmacists who display the attributes and skills considered invaluable in the training of pharmacy interns during the period of supervised practice. This award is open by nomination only.
