TerryWhite Chemmart recognises excellence in practice and leadership at annual awards night

TerryWhite Chemmart celebrated their national winners of the HEART Awards for the past year at the gala event held at the Gold Coast as part of the three-day network partner conference that commenced on 27th February. The TerryWhite Chemmart HEART Awards recognises excellence in health, customer engagement, service, and leadership.

Speaking about the award winners, TerryWhite Chemmart Executive General Manager, Nick Munroe said, “It’s particularly humbling to see every winner’s journey in pharmacy and the enormous impact they have in their respective communities. Together with the entire TerryWhite Chemmart support office team I congratulate all the winners for overcoming challenges over the last two years, truly demonstrating the value of a pharmacist’s role,” said Mr Munroe.

The National Pharmacy of the Year award was won by TerryWhite Chemmart Coffs Harbour in NSW for their exceptional customer experience and for elevating their community services.

Network Partner Tanya Maloney dedicated the award to her entire team in Coffs Harbour and commented that after living and working in Coffs Harbour for the last 32 years, winning the National Pharmacy of the Year Award has been a reward after the challenges of the past few years.

“I am so proud of my team, not just for the work they do every day in caring for our community, but for the culture they have helped me build in our pharmacy. We are a team that is truly dedicated to building better health outcomes for our community and I can’t thank them enough – our customers and patients truly mean everything to us, and they’ll be so excited for our win,” Ms Maloney said.

Also announced were the winners of the Rhonda White Leadership Award. This year the recipients of the award were brother and sister Leeza Vuong and Andy Vuong, from TerryWhite Chemmart Milton, NSW for being leaders of change within their community.

“It’s such a privilege to be honoured with this award. We’ve been championing mental health support in our pharmacy. After an incredibly tough time for our community enduring 72 days of bushfires that felt like 720 days, our community has needed a safe space where they can come for help and support. Our team are trained and ready to respond to signs of mental health. For people who do know what first step to take, we want them to know we can help with a referral.” Ms Vuong said upon winning.

Andy Vuong also commented that he and Leeza were long-time admirers of the leadership shown by Rhonda White and were truly humbled to stand next to such a pharmacy pioneer.

“For us, Rhonda’s determination and customer focus was always an inspiration as we embarked on our pharmacy ownership journey,” he commented.

The evening also recognised a range of other winners including the individual state pharmacy of the year, the most improved pharmacy and excellence in retail leadership.

Sharon Llewellyn, from TerryWhite Chemmart Kingston Town, TAS won the Retail Leadership award for her skills and talents as an exemplary business manager, people leader and all-rounder who puts TerryWhite Chemmart at the heart of the community in Kingston Town.

Ms Llewllyn said on the evening “I am proud to be recognised for the award on behalf of my fellow colleagues for the important role we do as pharmacy assistants in the delivery of much needed health services in community pharmacies, it would not have been possible without a supportive manager or great brand like TWC”.

More than 800 delegates attended this year’s TerryWhite Chemmart Ignite Conference, with key takeouts being the launch of a new customer promise “Dedicated to Care”, new developments to the myTWC app, CareClinics and supporting pharmacists with the current and expected changes to scope of practice.
