TerryWhite Chemmart (TWC) has announced a major investment agenda to accelerate retail growth and strengthen front-of-shop performance across its national network.
The commitment was outlined at the annual TWC Supplier Forum in Melbourne, which brought together more than 300 supplier partners to “hear how TWC is investing in customer demand, systems, tools and partnerships to support the next phase of growth across more than 630 pharmacies”.
‘Retail growth a major priority’
TWC General Manager Michael Beaumont says the forum reinforced a clear message to supplier partners: retail growth is a major priority, and the network is investing accordingly.
“Our focus is to better connect our trusted healthcare leadership with stronger retail execution, creating greater value for our customers, Network Partners and suppliers alike,” says Mr Beaumont.
“Health care delivery is at the centre of TerryWhite Chemmart, and it’s that strength that gives us a unique and powerful platform to drive retail growth — through stronger customer engagement, sharper retail execution and a more connected, efficient retail engine.
“We are making deliberate investments in customer demand, systems, ways of working with our network and partnerships that will strengthen front-of-shop performance, support our Network Partners and create stronger growth opportunities for supplier partners, while delivering the trust, convenience and a valuable care experience customers expect from community pharmacy.”
TWC says the key investment priorities highlighted at the forum include:
- PlanHub to improve promotional planning and campaign visibility,
- Network replenishment capabilities to support smarter ordering and stronger stock availability,
- An ERP Portal to improve supplier self-service, and
- An enhanced SKU Library, together with significant investment in TWC’s ecommerce platform and mobile app to improve convenience, accessibility and customer demand.
Systems and space upgrades plans
TWC says space optimisation also remains a major focus, with investment designed to improve ranging, lift space productivity, support stronger sales per square metre and better align store layouts to customer demand.
Mr Beaumont says the investment program is focused on building stronger retail foundations at scale.
“This is not about incremental change. We are putting the infrastructure in place to drive automation, improve efficiency and create more meaningful customer experiences,” he says.
“For our supplier partners, that means stronger opportunities to grow alongside one of Australia’s leading community pharmacy networks.
“For our Network Partners, it means better tools, greater support and more efficient ways of working.
“For our customers, it means a more connected, convenient and valuable pharmacy experience.”
TWC retail media platform
The forum also highlighted the continued growth of the TWC retail media platform, TWC Connect, which enables supplier partners to engage with pharmacy customers across a full suite of upper-funnel, digital and in-store touchpoints.
A panel of brand partners joined the session, featuring Phil Crespin from Opella, Delphine Chassagne from Kenvue and Kyle Evans from L’Oréal, who spoke about the performance and insights derived from working with the TWC Connect team and how they are integrating retail media into their overall brand plans.
Mr Beaumont says TWC is well progressed with the rollout of the digital screens network announced late last year, and the channel is already demonstrating performance growth and strong uptake by supplier partners.
“The next stage for TWC Connect is about giving partners even more insight. Our soon-to-launch self-service reporting dashboards will make it easier and timelier to see campaign results, enabling more informed decisions about future activity,” he says.
Mr Beaumont says the broader investment agenda reflects the strength of the TWC network and a clear focus on shared growth.
“That growth will come from strong partnerships, smart investment and a shared focus on real customer needs. Supplier partners are critical to that, and this forum is about making sure we are aligned, focused and ready to deliver,” he says.
