Guardian pharmacist wins top gong

Guardian Clermont owner and pharmacist, Grant Oswald, has taken out the 2022 Isaac Region Australia Day Mayor’s Award as part of this year’s Australia Day celebrations.

The annual award recognises outstanding members of the community, acknowledging the efforts of local champions and unsung heroes across the seven communities of the Isaac region.

Isaac Regional Council Mayor, Anne Baker, personally chose Mr Oswald for the award in recognition of his dedication and commitment to providing healthcare and patient services to the local community in Clermont.

Mr Oswald’s efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic revealed the enormous impact that the pharmacy has had on the local community after it being key to supporting the national vaccine rollout in the region.

“The Clermont community means everything to me, so it’s always been important to me as a community pharmacy owner, to be able to provide trusted care, even through the tough times, says Mr Oswald.

“As the only pharmacy in town, we’ve had the pleasure to get to know our patients on a personal level, so when they do come into the pharmacy, we can give them the one-to-one care that they’re looking for.

“Receiving the Isaac Region Mayor’s award means the world to me, especially as a community pharmacist – to have the support of the local council, and the community at large, is an honour.”
