Countdown is on towards APP2022

With less than a week to go before one of the biggest events on the professional networking calendar, the countdown is officially on towards APP2022.

While APP is an opportunity for community pharmacy professionals to network and re-connect with colleagues, with a conference program that includes experts speaking on a range of topics across clinical, business, innovation and leadership, it’s also a chance for attendees to refresh their knowledge and gain some valuable CPD credits.

“APP’s diverse and quality education is for the entire industry – pharmacists, pharmacy students, early career pharmacists, pharmacy assistants and people in the wider industry,” says APP2022 Conference Convenor Kos Sclavos AM.

“Attendees will be able to hear industry updates first-hand from Federal politicians, including Hon Greg Hunt MP, Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care and Hon Mark Butler MP, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care.

“They will also receive updates from Dr John Gerrard, Queensland’s Chief Health Officer and Dr Lisa Nissen, Professor and Head of School of Clinical Sciences, Queensland University of Technology.

“Experts are travelling to APP not just from around Australia but internationally. Professor Ross Tsuyuki, the full scope of practice expert, is flying in from Canada just for APP.

“Attendees can find inspiration in the story told by many of APP’s speakers, including futurist Mark McCrindle, Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and novelist Luke Davies and former Young Australian of the Year, Lucas Patchett.”

“There are also some inspiring pre-conference workshops, including the Australasian College of Pharmacy’s leading change and innovation workshop on Wednesday 23 March, but book quickly as places are limited,” continues Mr Sclavos adding that there will be something for everyone at APP2022.

For the pharmacists attending, the activities at the APP2022 conference have been accredited for a total of up to 24.5hrs of Group 1 CPD (or 24.5 CPD credits) suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan, which can be converted to up to 23.75hrs of Group 2 CPD (or 47.5 CPD credits) upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities. The overarching accreditation number for the conference is A2203APP0.
