Australian Neurofibromatosis Clinical Symposium

The Children’s Tumour Foundation (CTF) is hosting an event for professionals with an interest in neurofibromatosis (NF) to learn more about ground-breaking research, clinical trials, and medical advancements within the NF space.

Exclusively for doctors, clinical specialists, scientists, and allied health practitioners who have an interest, or are working in the field of NF, the hybrid event (to be held in Melbourne and virtually) is an essential calendar addition for any medical practitioners wanting to ensure they are offering patients the very latest information and developments.
The keynote presentation will be delivered virtually by Professor Gareth Evans, Medical Geneticist and Cancer Epidemiologist at the University of Manchester (UK) with a focus on NF2 best practice management.

Registrants will also hear from a showcase of Australian and international speakers who are well-versed to cover some of the common challenges people living with NF may encounter, and best practice management strategies including sleep disturbance, learning difficulties, transitioning to adult care, hearing preservation in NF2 and much more.

The CTF’s Chief Executive Officer, Leanne Dib is encouraged by what the symposium represents.

“In the last two years there has been an incredible amount of activity within the global NF arena. Perhaps most significantly, we have seen record breaking funding announcements from government that have supported the continuation and introduction of truly ground-breaking research projects and clinical trials,” she says.

“We see the 2022 symposium as an opportunity to celebrate and discuss all of these advancements under the one roof. This is an event the NF community can be proud of, bringing together the current and emerging leaders who are working collectively to advance care and treatment options.”
