Applications are now open for the 2023 PDL Student Grant Program and will remain open until 31 August 2023.
Established in 2020, the PDL (Pharmaceutical Defence Limited) grant program aims to help Australian pharmacy students attend a conference or event of their choosing.
The grant funds contribute to event registration, travel and accommodation up to the value of $5000.
David Brown, PDL CEO, encourages all pharmacy students to explore the wide range of options for events in both Australia and overseas.
“The Grants program is another way PDL can contribute to the pharmacy profession, by enabling students to attend conferences and events where they can experience high-quality education from world-renowned speakers and connect with inspiring leaders,” says Mr Brown.
“We have been able to sponsor students to attend a variety of events across Australia including the Australian Pharmacy Professionals Conference (APP), Medicines Management and the annual PSA event, as well as recently supporting one of our original winners to a conference in Portugal.”
2022 grant winner Sanam Fath Abadi recommends students apply for a grant because of the unique experiences they offer.
“Thanks to PDL’s Student Grant Program, I was able to explore my passion for hospital pharmacy at the SHPA Medicines Management Conference in Brisbane,” says Sanam.
“I got to network with many amazing hospital pharmacists, I developed new clinical skills from all the talks they were giving, and I even had the chance to present a poster on some research I had conducted that year.”
Current undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students can submit an application for one of three grants via the PDL member portal.
Applications close on 31 August 2023 at 11pm AEST.
