The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, National President Professor Trent Twomey is pleased to announce that Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care and Shadow Minister for Sport will present at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition (APP2024) on Thursday 14 March.
“Senator Ruston has been a vocal supporter of community pharmacy over the last year as it has faced the impact of 60-day dispensing.
“On the 60-day dispensing issues Senator Ruston is on the record stating, ‘The Opposition has been calling on the Government to provide a guarantee that this measure will not harm the viability of community pharmacies or the patients they care for’.
“We are looking forward to Senator Ruston attending and presenting at APP2024 for the second time and hearing more about her view on the progress made with many Australian states expanding community pharmacists’ scope within the country’s primary healthcare system,” said Professor Twomey.
Conference Convenor, Kos Sclavos AM welcomes the announcement of Senator Ruston presenting at APP2024 and encourages pharmacists to register now and not miss out.
“I am delighted Senator Ruston has again welcomed the opportunity to address the thousands of delegates on the Gold Coast next year and to speak to hard-working community pharmacy professionals.
“Delegates can look forward to hearing from Senator Ruston on Thursday morning, 14 March when APP2024 officially commences,” said Mr Sclavos.
