Capital Chemist, an innovative and community-care focused pharmacy group presented its Pharmacy of the Year awards at the Christmas Party (sponsored by Westpac), held in Canberra on Saturday December 9.
The pharmacy of the year is a hotly contested competition that focuses on around 50 parameters that the group feels are representative of success. These include things like growth, services development and implementation, demonstration of core values, customer service and pharmacist access.
In front of around 200 guests, staff and owners, the award was presented to Capital Chemist Chisholm by Anthony Watt, Key Account Manager with Arrotex, a long-term trading partner of Capital Chemist, and major sponsor of the awards.
Managing partners Rebecca Young and Rachel Rhodes were thrilled to receive the award. “This is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. And of course it’s essential that we acknowledge the efforts of our staff, and the support given by our management team at Capital Chemist. We don’t operate in isolation – we work as part of the Capital Chemist group and this award shows exactly what is possible”.
Runner up POTY was awarded to Capital Chemist University of Canberra.
Also on the night Team Member of the Year was awarded to Chris Stephens, Dispensary Operations Manager. His win was for the role he has played supporting the group through hundreds of drug shortages over recent years helping to minimise impacts on patients with need.

Arrotex Professional Services Pharmacy of the Year: Dodd & Dwyer, Capital Chemist Merimbula
The award for Community Engagement went to Capital Chemist University of Canberra.
