The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) are delighted to announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Australian Pharmacy Student Association (NAPSA) to formally establish the strong working relationship between both organisations. NAPSA is the peak representative body for pharmacy students in Australia.
The MOU was signed on Monday 18 November by APC Chair, Prof. Sarah Roberts-Thomson and NAPSA National President, Sebastian Harper. The MOU’s purpose is to establish a strong basis for deepening the engagement between APC and NAPSA across a range of initiatives including the APC IPE Colloquium™ event, the APC Accreditation committee, supporting NAPSA’s efforts in expanding the network of First Nations pharmacy students and other initiatives that advance education and networking opportunities.
APC Chair, Prof Roberts-Thompson reflected on the value this MOU bring to both organisations.
“It is important to have the students’ contribution on things like accreditation because accreditation is so important for their future, and we look forward to those contributions.”
NAPSA Chair, Sebastian Harper said this is the first agreement between NAPSA and APC.
“I’m very happy to be able to get this done. It gives a lot of support as well to our new Indigenous committee for something that we are quite committed to over the next year and well into the future.”
APC CEO Bronwyn Clark reflected on the strength of the existing relationship with APC and NAPSA.
“NAPSA and APC have worked together on a number of initiatives over the past few years, such as contributing to IPE Colloquium™ programs and APC consultations on our work to support expanding scope of practice education. I am particularly excited about the future collaboration with our First Nations’ students and including them in our LIPPE™ Network initiatives,” Ms Clark concluded.
