National Pharmacies has announced a partnership with Partnered Health to provide members and customers with 24/7 access to vocationally registered GPs through a new telehealth service, TeleWell.
The service, launched following a successful 6-month trial, is the latest step in National Pharmacies’ ongoing push to improve access to community healthcare.

The trial found that 4 out of every 10 customers accessed the telehealth service after hours, highlighting the demand for primary care outside standard operating hours.
Telewell consultations are available online via the National Pharmacies website and offer GP diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions, which can be sent electronically to a local National Pharmacies store.
‘Provide expert healthcare when it’s needed most’
“National Pharmacies is delighted to partner with Partnered Health to provide our members and customers access to expert healthcare when it’s needed most and help relieve pressure
on our health system,” says National Pharmacies CEO Vito Borrello.
“We know from demand for our 24/7 pharmacy that health emergencies can occur any time of the day or night, and now, with TeleWell, we will be able to provide full-circle, quality health care that is patient-centred and links to your local expert pharmacist.”
‘A shared focus on timely, high-quality care’
Partnered Health Medical Centres Chief Medical Officer Dr Shirley Fung says the collaborating reflects a shared focus on timely, high-quality care.
“TeleWell’s vocationally registered GPs provide personalised care for a range of needs, from urgent afterhours repeat prescriptions to treatment for acute or infectious conditions,” says Dr Fung.
