Allen Huang appointed to DDS National Council

Allen Huang, owner of Sinnamon Park and Belmont Road Discount Drug Store (DDS), has been appointed Councillor within the DDS National Council (DDSNC). Formed earlier this year, the DDSNC works to make local community voices heard by providing stronger alignment between the company’s franchise partners and its national operations.

Working alongside 12 other franchise partners and Sigma Healthcare representatives who make up DDS’ first ever National Council, Mr Huang says the initiative has already helped encourage greater synergy between those running the business operations and those at a community level.

Bringing more than 18 years’ experience in the industry, Mr Huang says he is excited to be a ‘voice at the table’ for all Queensland DDS franchise partners.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the Council,” says Mr Huang.

“With the Council including not just those on the ground day-to-day, but also Sigma Healthcare group representatives, I believe we have a real opportunity to collaborate as a business and ensure we continue improving the experience for our local communities.

“I joined the DDSNC to gain better insight into the value our business offers franchisees, especially when they’re in a transition period from another pharmacy brand, which is a challenging time to navigate. As a Councillor, I’m bringing my previous experience and knowledge to influence positive changes and ideas, and to table suggestions to ensure the brand continues to grow in synergy.”

“The DDSNC is a safe forum where franchise partners can voice their feedback, concerns, opinions or ideas. I’ve already seen first-hand how issues have been fast-tracked to the support office and quickly resolved, or new ideas have been implemented.”

Head of DDS and Chemist King, Patrick Stoll, says Mr Huang was an outstanding candidate for a Councillor position and will be a great ambassador to continue the brand’s commitment to franchise partners by breaking down traditional barriers of internal communication.

“Allen is a valuable Councillor to welcome on to the National Council, thanks to his wealth of knowledge and experience,” says Mr Stoll.

“Having worked within the pharmacy industry, as well as running his own pharmacy for many years, Allen has a true understanding of the support and services our teams and customers need. I look forward to working closely together.”
