Amcal celebrates 85 years

With a heritage that’s traced back to 1937, 85 years later Amcal Pharmacy’s ambition to innovate and provide leading healthcare remains as strong as ever, says Head of Amcal David Preston.

As part of its 85th anniversary celebrations, Amcal Pharmacy has commemorated the milestone with a retail-led campaign to say thanks to some of its valued customers.

More than 50,000 of Amcal’s most engaged members were sent special offers, paying homage to the impart part that Amcal’s most loyal customers have played in the pharmacy network’s 85-year success.

“At Amcal, our local pharmacy communities are at the heart of everything we do, so in celebrating our 85th anniversary, we wanted to personally thank, and reward, some of our most loyal customers,” Mr Preston said.

The month-long celebration also saw 25 lucky Amcal Reward customers win a share in $2500 worth of Visa gift cards via an in-store promotion, providing an opportunity for on-ground teams to celebrate the milestone with their customers.

“We want to thank our passionate and high-performing pharmacy teams that play a fundamental role in improving community health, and shaping Amcal into the brand that Australians recognise as a leader in premium, dynamic, and modern healthcare, today,” Mr Preston said.

“As we head into 2023 and beyond, we look forward to continuing to innovate Amcal’s health service offering for our patients, which we’ve already seen through the success of our recent Your Vaccination Destination® program.

“Here’s to another exciting 85 years ahead of us, backed by a passionate team of forward-thinkers and visionaries.”

According to a statement released by Amcal, the retail-led campaign resulted in a 72% increase in loyalty basket sales, and a 6% increase in total member sales, compared to the previous month.
