Another speaker added to Pharmacy Connect lineup

Senator the Hon Anne Ruston, Federal Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, will be joining the speaker line-up at next month’s Pharmacy Connect, presenting a keynote address to delegates on Friday 2 September.

Pharmacy Guild National President, Professor Trent Twomey says this again demonstrates the vital place community pharmacy has in national health policy.

“We’re very pleased to have Senator Ruston addressing Pharmacy Connect delegates,” said Professor Twomey.

“Senator Rushton is keen to engage with the community pharmacy sector to attain a deep understanding of the issues impacting the sector and the opportunities which community pharmacy can provide the health sector.”

Senator Ruston joins a stellar lineup of speakers including Chief Economist for Westpac Business Bank, Besa Deda, consumer behaviour expert Professor Gary Mortimer and Olympic Gold Medallist and Deputy Chef de Mission for the Tokyo Olympics, Kim Brennan.

Pharmacy Connect is open to all levels of pharmacy, from pharmacists, pharmacy managers, pharmacy staff and group executives, to interns and students.

The conference features three pre-conference workshops, a two-day education program, a 50-stand trade exhibition plus social networking opportunities.

In recognition of staff shortages in pharmacies, the conference is now offering shared registrations that enable more than one pharmacist or pharmacy assistant from the same store to experience Pharmacy Connect, without committing to a full day or days away from the pharmacy.

This is a great opportunity for networking and professional development for multiple staff, without paying multiple registration fees.
