APP2022’s Sunday program unmissable

APP2022 Convenor Kos Sclavos AM encourages attendees to the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference & Trade Exhibition (24-27 March 2022 on the Gold Coast) to arrange travel to take into account the Sunday program on offer.

With five weeks to go until APP, Mr Sclavos says the Sunday program is not to be missed.

“This year, we have two in-depth streams, which will focus on ‘meaty’ topics including full scope of practice, pharmacy trends, message delivery in a Covid-19 context, clinical governance and advertising compliance,” says Mr Sclavos.

“Only APP attendees will be able to get these insights first-hand.”

“Beginning at 9am, we will be unpacking what The Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s strategy is with regards to achieving full scope of practice for community pharmacists.”

“Full scope of practice is a solution that already successfully operates in countries like the United Kingdom (UK), Canada and New Zealand.”

“This session will outline the benefits of the full scope of practice for the health system, the profession, pharmacists individually, and most importantly, for patients,” says Mr Sclavos.

“Next, starting at 10am, we will hear from two leading figures in their fields, Rachel Obradovic from CT Group and Steve Thirgood from Curious Minds Media.

“Rachel and Steve run businesses which are experts in campaigning, research and digital advocacy and will be speaking to us about message delivery in the truly complex nature of the Covid world.

“Starting at 11:30am attendees will have the opportunity to hear from David Bruce and Paulina Hryniewiecka from ORIMA Research, who will discuss the results from recently commissioned research of Pharmacy Guild members.

“This presentation from ORIMA Research will also look at the benchmark results from the first member survey, as well as insights and trends from the most recent consumer survey.

“Running concurrently to these sessions is a clinical governance stream which will focus on the role of clinical governance in providing safe and quality pharmacy services and the do’s and don’ts of advertising therapeutic goods.”

APP2022 offers a Sunday day registration rate of $100, allowing pharmacists who can’t attend the rest of the conference to make the most of these insightful sessions.

The 100% Refund Guarantee, introduced for APP2021, is also offered in 2022, providing peace of mind to delegates.

“If attendees can’t travel to APP2022 due to Covid-19 restrictions, they will be entitled to a full refund,” says Mr Sclavos.
