Blooms and Arrotex open vax hub in Shellharbour

Blooms The Chemist and Arrotex Pharmaceuticals have joined forces to open a Covid-19 Vaccination Hub located in the heart of Shellharbour on New South Wales’ South Coast.

The Hub, operated jointly by the Blooms The Chemist Shellharbour team and Arrotex, includes a stand-alone five-room structure within the existing store located in the Stockland Shopping Centre, with pharmacists and Arrotex nurses onsite to deliver vaccinations to the local community.

CEO-elect Emmanuel Vavoulas says the unique partnership between the Pharmacy group and Arrotex signifies the importance of collaboration within the industry during these unprecedented times.

“This partnership with Arrotex Pharmaceuticals is an important and pivotal step for wider Covid-19 vaccination accessibility in the communities that need it the most. Working closely with our partners across our industry broadens the possibilities in the delivery of one of the most important health programs in our nation’s history,” says Mr Vavoulas.

Hayley Tamborini, General Manager Marketing of Arrotex Pharmaceuticals says that community pharmacies like Blooms The Chemist are essential local health hubs and are a crucial part of Australia’s healthcare system.

“We are proud to support the Blooms The Chemist network in delivering this critical health service and by partnering with a group who are such a trusted part of so many local communities, we are helping them make the national vaccination targets a reality,” says Ms Tamborini.

Blooms The Chemist Shellharbour Managing Pharmacist Stephanie Ashton says the clinic will be open Monday to Friday from 9:30am-4pm.

“Blooms The Chemist Shellharbour is proud to be supporting the Federal Government’s Covid-19 Vaccination Rollout Program alongside Arrotex Pharmaceuticals. Our teams, both here in Shellharbour and across the country, will do whatever we can to help keep our local communities safe, and deliver these essential vaccinations as quickly as possible,” says Ms Ashton.

Members of the local community aged from 18 years old, following the advice of their GP, are invited to utilise Blooms The Chemist’s online booking platform to secure their appointment to receive both doses of the AstraZeneca vaccination.

“The role community pharmacists play as healthcare professionals on the frontline is more vital than ever, supporting a variety of vaccination programs including the flu vaccine. We are committed to continuing our long-standing efforts in community vaccination efforts and are delighted to support the nation’s Covid-19 Vaccination Rollout Program and the people of Shellharbour,” says Mr Vavoulas.
