Following a tumultuous year, Blooms The Chemist says connecting with our local communities has never been more important for community pharmacy.
Blooms The Chemist Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Vavoulas, says we must support people in our local communities to make good health choices and reduce health inequality and injustice.
Mr Vavoulas says community pharmacy has an opportunity to have a “meaningful impact and to make a real difference”, something, which he says, has been at the core of business at Blooms The Chemist.
“Our stores are locally-owned and operated. We live alongside our customers and see the everyday stresses that can take a toll on their health and wellbeing,” he says.
“We’re often the first point of care for many people from culturally diverse backgrounds because our pharmacy teams reflect our local communities.”
Building on ‘Pharmacy 2030’
Building on their vision for the future, which they unveiled at APP in 2021 – Pharmacy 2030 – Mr Vavoulas says that the business is “continuing to expand our national network of pharmacists who want to be part of a movement to build a better future”.
“If our intention is to continue adding value to people’s lives, to fulfil our role as healthcare professionals and future-fit our industry and our businesses against inevitable change, we must continue putting people first,” says Mr Vavoulas.
“Blooms The Chemist is actively looking to recruit pharmacists who are motivated to be the best version of themselves. People who want to make a real and lasting difference in their local communities and help make the world a better place. These are the people we want to join our network.”
Launching at APP2022 and running to the 24 April, pharmacists are invited to join Blooms The Chemist’s movement to build a better future through a simple activation – a donation of $50 to one of their four charity partners will be made for every person who joins the company’s mailing list via this page.
As a member of the mailing list, pharmacists will be kept informed on the future of community pharmacy and get access to a range of exclusive resources that will help them evaluate their readiness for Pharmacy ownership, improve their business, and understand the key benefits of joining the Blooms The Chemist brand.
“At Blooms The Chemist, we’re energised by the opportunity to further support our charity partners and hope others will help us raise much-needed funds throughout APP by joining our mailing list. The funds will help these charitable organisations keep changing the world, for good,” says Pamela Bishop, Blooms The Chemist Chief Operating Officer.
“Supporting equitable access to good health is at the heart of our brand purpose, keeping people as the primary focus. These initiatives remind pharmacists and pharmacy owners what it really means to be a truly community-driven pharmacy.
“Pharmacists seeking something more from their pharmacy career, who want to be part of a better future, should come to our stand at APP and meet some of our pharmacists and hear their stories,” she says.
‘Putting people first’Â
Mr Vavoulas adds: “By putting people first in everything we do, we win the trust of our customers and our team. In return, pharmacy-owners have an opportunity to build a very profitable business and make a meaningful impact in their local communities.
“Blooms The Chemist has spent the past 40 years fostering a very unique culture and as we continue to grow nationwide, we would like to see pharmacists considering ownership enjoy the same opportunities to build a better future, for themselves and their communities.”
