Caltex & Uber Eats deliver pharmacy products to doors

Caltex and Uber Eats has partnered for an Australian first, which sees essential pharmaceutical items delivered right to Aussie’s front doors.

The offer, which is available in the Caltex Foodary shop on the Uber Eats app enables over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, such as Panadol, Nurofen, Zyrtec, Codral and Advil, available for delivery from Caltex stores* across Australia in under 30 minutes on average.

The partnership is a natural extension of Caltex’ capabilities to deliver more convenience to Australian consumers.

“The successful launch of our delivery range in 2019 has demonstrated how we use our national retail network to serve customers in new ways, making life easier and supporting easy access to fresh food and other essentials when our customers most need it,” explains Caltex’s Executive General Manager of Convenience Retail, Joanne Taylor.

“As we work through the last month of winter, and in the new retail normal of increased hygiene and reduced human touch points following the onset of COVID-19, we know this new essential pharmaceutical delivery range will resonate with Australians looking to safely access the right products.”

Uber’s Head of Markets for Australia & New Zealand, Lucas Groeneveld says that the new pharmaceutical category is an example of Uber’s commitment to providing Australians with what they need at their fingertips.

“Whether it’s parents needing Panadol late at night, providing a service for those less mobile, or making it easier for people to self-isolate without forgoing access to important health items, this new offering will make life easier for hundreds of thousands of Australians.”

This adds to the range of food and grocery items already available via Caltex’s Foodary through Uber Eats, including healthy ready-to-eat meals, sandwiches, protein snacks, hot food, coffee, health and beauty and general grocery products.

Pharmaceuticals are limited to two items per order and users must be over 18 years of age to have an Uber Eats account. Items requiring a prescription will not be accessible as part of this Australian trial.

*Caltex Australia is in the process of rebranding its network to Ampol, with the first Ampol sites to launch over the coming months and the full transition of the existing Caltex network to be completed by the end of 2022.
