Canadian full scope expert to speak at APP2022

Canadian academic pharmacy leader, Professor Ross Tsuyuki, is now set to address APP delegates in person regarding how Australia can prepare for pharmacists practising at full scope.

APP022 Conference Convenor Kos Sclavos AM says the address had originally planned to be undertaken virtually, however, given the opening of international borders, Professor Tsuyuki can now travel to the Gold Coast to give the address in person.

“We are really delighted Professor Tsuyuki will be able to be here with us in person as we all come together on the Gold Coast,” says Mr Sclavos.

“In his presentation, Professor Tsuyuki will review the principles of a full scope of pharmacist practice and the evidence for this, plus discuss the next steps that need to be considered, including removal of self-induced barriers, workflow changes, training opportunities, and a fundamental shift from reactive to proactive care.

“This presentation by Professor Tsuyuki will touch on the main themes needed for the major shift as we move towards a full scope of pharmacist practise in Australia.

“Given recent comments in the medical press about the role pharmacists can play in healthcare this is now a key APP and industry presentation,” says Mr Sclavos.

With only two weeks until APP, Mr Sclavos encourages anyone who hasn’t already done so to register soon.

“I would hate to see anyone miss out on what promises to be a fantastic event,” says Mr Sclavos.

“We have kept in place the 100% Refund Guarantee introduced last year. If attendees can’t travel to APP2022 due to Covid-19 restrictions, they will be entitled to a full refund.”

Please note: Due to restricted flight times from Canada, Professor Tsuyuki will now present on Saturday 26 March at 8:30AM.

Further information on this and other APP presentations is available on the program page of the conference website at appconference.com/app-program.
