APP2022 Conference Convenor Kos Sclavos says attendees will hear from the “who’s who” of the Covid-19 pandemic response, including Minister for Health and Aged Care Greg Hunt and Federal Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler.
“We’ve also recently announced that we will have the person leading Queensland’s efforts in the battle against Covid-19, Queensland’s new Chief Health Officer, Dr John Gerrard, speaking,” Mr Sclavos says
Representatives of the organisations responsible for creating the most prominent vaccines in Australia will also present at the event.
“Attendees will get the chance to hear directly from Pfizer and Moderna representatives,” Mr Sclavos says,
“Given the central role community pharmacy has played rolling out the vaccines, hearing from and engaging directly with these organisations will be a great benefit.”
Other sessions at APP will focus on the next stages of Covid-19, including treatment options.
“While we are very much looking forward to hearing from those who have led the fight against Covid, it’s also important for us to plan for the future,” Mr Sclavos says.
“Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend sessions which will focus on the upcoming flu season and how to avoid burnout.”
APP2022 takes place on 24-27 March 2022 on the Gold Coast.
With only three weeks remaining to register and book travel, Mr Sclavos encourages anyone still considering attending APP to act fast.
“There’s still some time to purchase tickets to attend APP but accommodation is almost sold out; I would hate for anyone to miss out,” he says.
“We have also kept in place the 100% Refund Guarantee introduced for APP2021. If attendees can’t travel to APP2022 due to Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns, they will be entitled to a full refund.”
