The date for this year’s Pharmacy Connect has changed from August to 2-4 September, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, New South Wales Branch has announced, due to a scheduling conflict with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
“Now that FIP has been pushed back to 2023, we’ve been able to move back to our preferred dates of 2-4 September 2021,” explains Pharmacy Connect Convenor and former Guild National President, Kos Sclavos AM.
With registrations to Pharmacy Connect now open, Mr Sclavos underscores that “there are only 800 places available, and with the Federal Government assistance being made available, we’re expecting a lot of interest in this event”.
Reportedly, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia has secured the Austrade funding grant, which is part of a $50 million initiative launched by the Federal Government to support business meetings and conventions across Australia to support post-Covid economic recovery.
To be eligible for the funding, delegates or exhibitors must spend a minimum of $20,000 to get as much as 50% returned.
“The $50 million Business Events Grants Program is a great initiative by the Federal Government to encourage more delegates and exhibitors to attend conferences in 2021,” says Mr Sclavos.
“We’re so excited that we were able to secure this funding for APP2021 as well as Pharmacy Connect.”

Pharmacy Connect is expected to be a Covid-Safe event to keep attendees safe.
“The health and safety of all our attendees is our number one priority,” adds Mr Sclavos.
