Deputy Prime Minister to address APP

Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of The Nationals Michael McCormack MP will address delegates at APP.

Mr McCormack has accepted the Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s (Guild) invitation to speak at the Australian Pharmacy Professional (APP) conference on the Gold Coast. on the morning of Friday 8 March to deliver the opening address where he will discuss the vital role community pharmacies play in non-metropolitan Australia.

When addressing the Guild’s Annual Parliamentary Dinner in Canberra in November last year Mr McCormack spoke about the importance of community pharmacies in helping to address the health needs of rural and regional Australians.

“In many cases, you are friends to people who might otherwise not have someone to share their burden or story with. You are there to hear their stories, to help them with the health needs in rural, regional and especially remote areas. I take my hat off to you because I know the vital role you play in our community,” he said.

APP is the leading conference event on the pharmacy industry calendar in Australia. In addition to the Deputy Prime Minister, this year’s conference will also feature addresses by the Federal Minister for Health, Greg Hunt MP, and the Shadow Minister for Health and Medicare, Catherine King MP.
