FIP launches database working towards global health improvement.

A new resource for evidence-based advocacy and policy engagement, designed for pharmacists, policymakers, researchers, and members of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP),was launched on World Health Day (April 7).

The FIP Impact Database collects, summarises, categorises and analyses FIP outputs, including publications, that support the federation’s vision and mission. The impact database is hosted by the FIP Global Pharmaceutical Observatory. It also includes main area of work, challenges, opportunities and best practices of FIP’s member organisations over the past decade that have impacted on improving global health.

The database is currently in its testing phase and FIP is inviting its members to explore its features and provide feedback here (or by emailing observatory@fip.org). In the next phase of development, FIP plans to expand the scope of the platform by incorporating additional publications that have impacted on global policy formation.

“This platform describes the work of FIP and its member organisations that has influenced practice, education and policy. As we move forward into next stages of development, the impact database will continue to evolve into a sustainable, dynamic resource for policymakers and influencers,” said Prof. Ian Bates, Director, FIP Global Pharmaceutical Observatory.
