NAPSA and LocumCo have announced the launch of a free national portal for owners to list their intern requirements and students to apply for these intern positions.
Through extensive discussions with NAPSA, LocumCo owner and manager Sue Muller said, “we have listened to the difficulties students have encountered while nearing the end of their studies in trying to search for an intern position. There were just too many options which caused confusion for owners and students”.
Ms Muller says now community pharmacy owners and hospitals can go to www.locumco.com.au and click the front page link to list their intern position.
Final year students can also go to www.locumco.com.au, insert ‘Intern’ in position type to find all the intern jobs available. Apply with CV and Cover Letter and Ms Muller says she will do the rest, including feedback when unsuccessful.
The process to get an intern position has also been streamlined as follows:
- Owners complete a simple online form at locumco.com.au
- LocumCo creates online Intern job listing
- Students apply with CV and cover letter
- Resume forwarded
- Owner makes direct contact with candidate
LocumCo has had such a long association with the pharmacy profession that it is offering the entire service at no charge as a way of giving back to the industry, Ms Muller said.
