The long-standing partnership between the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA) has been renewed for another 12 months.
“This agreement is the basis of a trusting and enduring partnership, which the Guild values highly,” Pharmacy Guild National President, Professor Trent Twomey said.
The renewed partnership agreement was signed at the recent Pharmacy Connect conference and continues the Guild’s involvement as NAPSA’s main financial sponsor.
Professor Twomey says the partnership isn’t just about providing financial support – this is just one aspect of the partnership.
“Perhaps even more important is the strong connection and association with the pharmacists of tomorrow who are coming through pharmacy schools today,” he said.
NAPSA National President, Flynn Swift says that continuing the growth-fostering relationship with the Guild allows pharmacy students, and the pharmacy profession as a whole, to feel supported “with entrusting us as the future pharmacists of Australia”.
“Having the Guild show its continued support for NAPSA helps build confidence in our students to know we are represented properly in such a hard time,” he said.
“With that being said, pharmacy is only going to become more rewarding with the development of a pharmacist’s scope of practice, and the continuous light on the pay rates.
“It’s a great time to be a pharmacy student and we look forward to what the next 12 months have to offer with collaboration with the Guild.”
