Hon Emma McBride to speak at Pharmacy Connect

Pharmacy Connect Convenor Kos Sclavos AM has confirmed the Hon Emma McBride MP, Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health, will be joining the speaker line-up at this year’s Pharmacy Connect.

Ms McBride will be addressing attendees during the program’s Judy Liauw Address on Saturday 3 September.

Mr Sclavos said that the pharmacy industry is fortunate to have one of its own in Federal Parliament, with Ms McBride being a registered pharmacist who has worked in the health sector for over 20 years.

“We’re very pleased to have Ms McBride addressing Pharmacy Connect delegates,” said Mr Sclavos.

“Those of us who were able to attend APP2022 will remember her contribution, and we’re delighted that she is able to provide an update to the pharmacy industry once again.

“Ms McBride is the only pharmacist in Federal Parliament and as the Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health is in an ideal position to fight for better health services for all Australians.

“As a pharmacist, Ms McBride also understands the unique challenges facing rural and regional communities when it comes to accessing healthcare and she hopes to play a role in shaping public policy that promotes the health and wellbeing of every Australian, regardless of where they live.”

Pharmacy Connect is being held 1-3 September at the Hilton Sydney and is open to all levels of pharmacy, from pharmacists, pharmacy managers, pharmacy staff and group executives, to interns and students.

The conference features pre-conference workshops, a two-day education program, a 50-stand trade exhibition plus social networking opportunities.

The community pharmacy industry has only one week left to secure early bird rates before registration prices increase on Friday 29 July.

“You have seven days left to save with early bird registration,” Mr Sclavos said.

“It’s been three years since we’ve come together for Pharmacy Connect, so why not secure your seat now and save?”

Mr Sclavos also reminded attendees of the Covid-19 refund guarantee available for Pharmacy Connect, whereby delegates not able to attend Pharmacy Connect due to Covid-19 restriction requirements can access online session recordings for 50% of the registration fee, transfer their registration to another delegate or receive a full refund.

Early-bird registration can be booked online at pharmacy-connect.com.au.
