The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is pleased to announce that the Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care, The Hon Greg Hunt MP will be addressing delegates in the opening plenary of the 2022 Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition (APP2022) on Thursday 24 March.
APP2022, being held 24-27 March on the Gold Coast, is an annual event that brings together community pharmacy professionals from across Australia.
APP2022 Conference Convenor Kos Sclavos AM says he is thrilled to announce Minister Hunt’s involvement again this year.
“This will be the last opportunity we have to hear from Minister Hunt before he steps out of Federal politics,” says Mr Sclavos.
“Minister Hunt has announced his retirement from politics following along a distinguished political career.
“The timing of Minister Hunt’s speech, just days out from when the Federal Budget is due, will also make it one not to miss.”
“Since the pandemic began, Minister Hunt has been front and centre in Australia’s fight against Covid-19.
“He has been instrumental in the design and rollout of the vaccination program and has been a close partner with and strong advocate of community pharmacy across Australia,” said Mr Sclavos.
“Given Minister Hunt’s central role, we are very much looking forward to what he will share with us on the day.”
Demonstrating the central role that community pharmacy plays, Mr Sclavos also says that all sides of politics would be addressing APP2022.
“We are very fortunate in that not only do we have the Minister joining us, but his counterpart, Hon Mark Butler MP, Federal Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, will also be addressing APP2022 during the morning session of Thursday, 24 March.
“We’re very pleased to have Mr Butler addressing APP2022,” says Mr Sclavos.
“Those of us who were able to attend APP2021 remember his contribution, so we’re delighted that Mr Butler is able to address us on the Gold Coast once again.
With only six weeks before APP2022, Mr Sclavos reminds potential attendees that the 100% Refund Guarantee introduced for APP2021 would continue to be on offer for the 2022 event, providing peace of mind for delegates.
