WHAT IS UC-II® COLLAGEN?
UC-II® Collagen is a novel form of undenatured type II collagen, the type of collagen found in cartilage. It is made by a patented manufacturing process designed to preserve is native structure, allowing UC-II® to work with the immune system to enhance healthy joint function, promoting the body’s own repair process.
HOW DOES UC-II® COLLAGEN WORK?
UC-II® works with the immune system to induce oral tolerance, this contributes to decreased inflammatory response leading to improved joint comfort and function.2-4
STEP 1 – BIND: UC-II® collagen travels through the gut to a collection of immune cells in the small intestine called Peyer’s patches. The bioactive regions of UC-II® collagen, called epitopes, bind to the immune cells within the Peyer’s patch inducing the oral tolerance process.
STEP 2 – TRIGGER: When these epitopes bind to the Peyer’s patches, it triggers an immune response, stimulating the production of regulatory T cells.
STEP 3 – BUILD: Regulatory T cells travel to the joints, releasing cytokines, regulating the inflammation response and upregulating chondrocytes to help promote joint cartilage growth
HOW IS UC-II® COLLAGEN DIFFERENT FROM OTHER JOINT SUPPLEMENTS?Caltrate Joint Health contains ingredients that not only supplement to support joint health, it also contains UC-II collagen too which works with the immune system to help improve joint health, via prompting the body’s natural processes to repair joint cartilage.
Ingredient | Mode of Action | Dose Size |
UC-II® Collagen | Triggers immune system to repair joint cartilage | Small, 40mg |
Hydrolysed Collagen | Supplements body’s natural collagen | Very large, from 2,000 – 10,000 mg |
Glucosamine & Chondroitin | Supplements body’s natural glucosamine & chondroitin | Large, up to 1,500 mg |
Curcumin | Reduces inflammation | Large, up to 2,000 mg |
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CALTRATE JOINT HEALTH?
Caltrate Joint Health has a 3-IN-1 TRIPLE BENEFIT:
- UC-II® collagen helps enhance joint health and reduces mild joint pain associated with symptoms of mild arthritis
- Vitamin C for collagen formation to promote joint mobility
- Manganese for healthy connective tissue development and UC-II® collagen supports cartilage recovery
