Member for Wentworth joins Pharmacy Connect breakfast panel

Allegra Spender MP, Member for Wentworth, will join the Women in Pharmacy breakfast panel at Pharmacy Connect on Saturday 3 September.

The breakfast will address the discrepancy between the percentage of women in community pharmacy and female representation in leadership roles and pharmacy ownership.

“Women make up 57% of community pharmacists, but this is not reflected in our leadership and ownership statistics,” Kos Sclavos AM, Pharmacy Connect Convenor said.

“This breakfast aims to support and mentor the next generation of pharmacy leaders and owners in order to correct this imbalance and support our pharmacy profession.”

Ms Spender will be joined on the panel by 2022 Guild Pharmacy of the Year Winner, Brooke Young, Executive General Manager of Pharmaceuticals for Arrotex, Hayley Tamborini, and Guild National Councillor, Judy Plunkett.

The session will be facilitated by The Pharmacy Guild of New South Wales Vice President, Adele Tahan.

The breakfast is open to anyone in the industry to attend.

Tickets are limited, so interested attendees are encouraged to book as soon as possible.

Pharmacy Connect is taking place 1-3 September at the Hilton Sydney.

The conference offers pre-conference workshops, two days of educational sessions, a sold-out trade exhibition with 50-plus exhibitors, and networking opportunities.
