Michael Minter is TWC’s Pharmacist of the Year 2020

TerryWhite Chemmart Charlestown Pharmacist, Michael Minter has been awarded with the TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the Year for 2020.

The win was announced at a gala evening awards as part of TerryWhite Chemmart’s Masterclass event in Melbourne.

“It’s the calibre of our pharmacists that make TerryWhite Chemmart the pharmacy brand it is today and Michael is a true reflection of what it means to be a great pharmacist,” says TerryWhite Chemmart’s CEO, Duncan Phillip.

“Not only is Michael a great pharmacist, having been instrumental to his pharmacy of Charlestown taking out the NSW TWC Pharmacy of the Year in 2019, he is a community leader and driver of change, recently helping to transform his pharmacy into a community safe-space for marginal groups in the local and greater Newcastle region.”

Additionally, Michael is a part-time practicing paramedic and recently completed further training to become a trained Diabetes Educator.

“The last few days at the Masterclass has highlighted to me that our profession is full of many individuals passionate about improving the health of their communities,” explains Michael.

“To be surrounded by more than 400 of these individuals over 3 days has been nothing short of inspiring and has left me with a renewed appreciation of our amazing profession.

“Thank you to TerryWhite Chemmart and my peers for the acknowledgment.”

As part of the award, Michael receives funding towards furthering his education to ensure he can continue the great work he is already doing for his community.
