MM2025 in motion as Call for Abstracts opens and first keynote revealed

Australia’s largest and most influential scientific pharmacy conference — Medicines Management 2025 — is officially in motion with the Call for Abstracts open for pharmacists, technicians and collaborators to showcase groundbreaking research and innovative ideas from in and around Australian hospitals, and across care settings.

The magic and momentum of Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha)’s 49th national conference will take place at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre from 27–29 November, with keynote speaker Dr Jana Pittman set to light up the stage with her fascinating journey of pursuing a medical career beyond sport while also being a healthcare advocate and proud mum of six.

To meet high demand, abstract submissions have opened early, welcoming contributions from pharmacists and technicians across all care settings until 11.59 PM AEST, Wednesday 2 July. Submissions are invited in three categories: original research, pharmacy practice, and case reports.

‘Every year, Medicines Management shines a spotlight on the incredible talent and passion of pharmacists and technicians. It’s a platform where bold ideas take centre stage, where emerging researchers make their mark, and where established leaders push the boundaries of innovation.

‘From budding ideas, to pioneering research and real-world case studies, MM2025 has propelled countless pharmacy professionals into the limelight while helping shape policies, improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare practices.’
With more than 80 oral presentation places available, MM2025 offers a unique chance to present, collaborate, and inspire change.

‘Whether you’re a student, an early-career practitioner, or a seasoned leader, I encourage all pharmacy professionals to be part of Australia’s largest scientific pharmacy program,’ says Dr O’Hara.

‘It doesn’t matter if this is your first or fifteenth Medicines Management conference, one thing remains the same: this is where it all happens.

‘Submitting an abstract is the first step, and I look forward to seeing cross-country colleagues and new and old friends when we return to Melbourne this November.’
