New Blooms The Chemist store opens in WA

Blooms The Chemist is celebrating the official opening of its Darch store in Perth’s CBD, with a ribbon cutting ceremony that kicked off family-friendly in-store activities and exclusive offers.

“Several hundred people come to the launch, enjoying all the family-focused festivities. From face painting to the petting zoo as well as a visit from the Easter bunny, there were plenty of excited little faces making the whole day really special for all,” says Blooms The Chemist Darch’s owner and pharmacist, Daniel Bowtell, who was joined by the new store team and his family at the launch.

“There were also various in-store giveaways for our customers, with the first 50 customers receiving a show bag, door prizes throughout the day, a social media competition and a colouring competition for the little ones.”

Mr Bowtell completed his Pharmacy training at Curtin University in Perth in 2010, which saw him make the move to Broome for his internship, where he stayed for 10 years. His responsibilities have varied over the years, from being a community pharmacist in a small regional town through to visiting remote Indigenous communities to help service their medical clinics. He has always been interested in the pharmacy business, which led him to open his own through the Blooms the Chemist network.

“We’re so thrilled to be joining the Blooms The Chemist network,” says Mr Bowtell.

“Working in a truly community-centric group like Blooms The Chemist empowers us at Darch to continue our strong commitment to improving the health of our local community. We are looking forward to becoming a prominent health destination that excels in service and knowledge.

“What I truly love about being a Pharmacist is connecting on a deep and personal level with members of the community on a daily basis. Having a primary care approach to everything we do at Blooms The Chemist Darch is so important to me personally, as I know the vital role community Pharmacists play in helping people live a healthier life,” says Mr Bowtell.

To mark the occasion, his eldest son Clark, became the store’s youngest recruit, donning a custom-made pharmacist jacket courtesy of his grandmother.

“Clark loves working in the shop and scanning items at the till. I can tell he will be very helpful once he’s trained up,” joked Mr Bowtell.

Blooms The Chemist’s CEO, Phil Smith, shared his congratulations with Mr Bowtell and the Darch team on the official launch of the pharmacy.

“We are so pleased to welcome Daniel and the Darch team into the growing Blooms The Chemist network. His desire to deliver to best possible healthcare for the Darch community strengthens our people-first philosophy. We wish the team all the best for a bright and blooming future,” says Mr Smith.
