PATY State Finalists Announced

A group of 50 pharmacy assistants are one step closer to representing their state and to potentially winning the Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY).

National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Mr Trent Twomey announced the state PATY finalists today [11 August], adding that this group of finalists is one of the strongest contested groups he has seen.

“We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the candidates that have been nominated by others and who have put their hands up to be in contention this year,” says Mr Twomey.

“These finalists have now won the opportunity to participate in their respective state workshops, which provide vital professional development opportunities to all the finalists.

“The state winners will then be chosen from amongst the finalists and go on to a national judging workshop, before the National Winner is announced on 22 October,” he says.

Mr Twomey says that both the state award and the national awards carry some incredible prizes.

“The state winners receive a trophy, travel and registration to select events as well as exclusive training and development sessions and a profile in national guild electronic and social media platforms and external media.

“The national winner receives over $10,000 worth of prizes, including a trophy, a cash prize of $5,000, a customised training package, and return flights and accommodation to the Covid-Safe Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference (APP) and the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference in 2022,” says Mr Twomey.
