Pfizer Aus/NZ chief to depart for Europe role

Pfizer Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Melissa McGregor will depart from her role in March.

After spending four years in this position, she will take up a new opportunity with Pfizer as Vice President, European Cluster 1 for the company’s hospital business unit.

“I’m very humbled to be joining the hospital business unit in Europe with Pfizer,” Ms McGregor said. “We’re responsible for bringing a leading hospital portfolio of sterile injectables and anti-infectives to the patients that depend on us.”

In the interim, she says, she remains committed to the success of Pfizer in Australia and New Zealand and ensuring a smooth transition to its new leadership, with recruitment for her successor underway.

“During her term as Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Melissa has made a significant contribution to not only the Australia and New Zealand businesses of Pfizer but also as an advocate for industry through Medicines Australia,” Pfizer Regional President International Developed Markets, Internal Medicine Diego Sacristan said.

“I want to thank Melissa for her incredible contribution to the Australian and New Zealand business over the past 21 years. She leaves the organisation in excellent shape, and while she will be moving to a new role, we’re pleased she will continue as a key leader at Pfizer.”
