Pharmacist migraine management education module available

With the scheduling changes to some medications in the triptan class – now Pharmacist Only medicines – pharmacists now have an increased scope of migraine management that they can offer to patients.

However, given that triptans may not be suitable for all patients suffering migraines, Guild Learning and Development has partnered with GSK on the development of an education module: ‘Primary care management of migraine’.

This module aims to educate pharmacists on the best-practice management of migraines while focusing on the role of simple analgesia and other non-prescription options for patients.

To help cement the learnings around the role of each available medication class in the management of migraine in community pharmacy, this module is also said to include case studies to help facilitate the education.
