Pharmacy Guild welcomes appointment of new Secretary for the Department of Health

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA) welcomes the recommended appointment by the Federal Government of Blair Comley PSM as incoming Secretary of the Department of Health and Aged Care.

Guild National President, Professor Trent Twomey congratulates Mr Comley on his new role.

“On behalf of the Pharmacy Guild and all the pharmacists and staff we represent, we look forward to a constructive and professional relationship with Mr Comley in meeting the challenges ahead and maintaining a viable pharmacy network.

“Mr Blair’s appointment comes at a dynamic time in pharmacy, which is seeing the sector evolve by providing more front-line health services to our patients,” said Professor Twomey.

He also noted the distinguished experience Mr Blair brings to the role.

“His extensive background in both the public and private sectors as well as strong qualifications in economics is impressive.

“I wish Mr Comley all the best in his new role”.
