Pharmacy Platform ready for vaccine rollout

Pharmacy Platform pharmacies are ready to hit the ground running thanks to a robust national rollout strategy and behind-the-scenes pharmacy briefings.

Pharmacy Platform which houses Advantage Pharmacies, Pharmacy Catalyst and Chemist Discount Centres, had its national strategy put together well in advance in anticipation of the impending rollout.

The Pharmacy Platform Covid-19 vaccination rollout strategy covers the professional service aspects of the delivery, operational efficiency, technology incorporation, marketing & communications, merchandising, policies & procedures, as well as wholesale & distribution.

Kelvin Lee, proprietor of Chemist Discount Centre Parkhill says, “my team and I are impressed by comprehensive strategy that has been put together by the teams at the Pharmacy Platform Support Office.”

“We were also given regular communication and updates since early in the year, prompt guidance in completing our Expression of Interest to take part in the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, and reassurance of the support we will receive, so we can deliver our vaccination services with operational efficiency and safety as top priority.”

From comprehensive marketing strategy, booking vaccination appointments online, to back-end technology, Pharmacy Platforms says each of its pharmacy brands and banners are in a strong position to ensure their role in the community is supported through a robust strategy.

Roger Millichamp, CEO of Pharmacy Platform says, “our Support Office teams have prepared background support, services and communications to help ensure that pharmacy members in each of our national brands and banners can service their communities as efficiently and effectively as possible once they are approved by the Government.”

“Pharmacists and their teams have been given the responsibility to take part in the national Covid-19 vaccination rollout, and at Pharmacy Platform we take that very seriously.

“Having run the numbers, particularly for rural and regional areas, we estimate that some pharmacies may be required to deliver vaccination services for up to 4,000 individuals in the community.

“This is a huge undertaking for some, especially smaller pharmacies, so we’ve put in place the checks and balances across the system to help.

“We’re pulling out all of the stops to ensure our service to the community is at the highest possible level.”
