PM recognises best of the best in community pharmacy

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is delighted to announce that Complete Care Pharmacy, Rosny Park, Tasmania has won Guild Pharmacy of the Year 2025.

The announcement was made at Australian Pharmacy Professional 2025, a conference and trade show on the Gold Coast. Prime Minister Albanese attended the opening ceremony. He congratulated the winners and recognised the hard work of community pharmacists across the country.

Award Judge and National Councillor Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Nick Panayaris congratulated the winners and praised their commitment to patient care and innovation.
“The Guild Pharmacy of the Year winners exemplify the very best of community pharmacy—exceeding and not just meeting expectations. They have shown how accessible, personalised care can shape healthier communities and deliver better outcomes for patients,” Mr Panayiaris said.

Complete Care Pharmacy has developed an innovative patient health model for community pharmacy. This model emphasises personalised service, tailored health solutions, and proactive care.

Kristina Fox, Complete Care Pharmacy owner and pharmacist said, “Winning pharmacy of the year is recognition to our team of the huge amount of hard work and sacrifice taken to develop an innovative patient health model for community pharmacy. We are so proud of our team and so excited for the future of community pharmacy!”
Nick Panayiaris said: “Complete care in Rosny Park’s model goes beyond traditional dispensing services by focusing on improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall healthcare experience for the community.”

In addition to the overall Guild Pharmacy of the Year Award there were four category award winners:
•Excellence in Community Engagement: Capital Chemist Charnwood, ACT
•Excellence in Business Management: Warnbro Pharmacy, WA
•Excellence in Harm Minimisation: Capital Chemist Charnwood, ACT
•Excellence in Professional Innovation: Complete Care Pharmacy, TAS

Award Judge Michelle Bou-Samra said the winners demonstrated a deep understanding of their community’s health needs.

“All the 2025 winners have shown remarkable leadership and dedication, offering tailored health services that reflect the specific needs of their communities. Their commitment to innovation and patient care sets a standard for the entire profession,” Ms Bou-Samra said.

“Each winner has made an extraordinary contribution, not just through the services they provide but in how they connect with and support their communities. They reflect the future of community pharmacy—accessible, innovative, and patient-focused.”

The Guild Pharmacy of the Year Awards celebrate excellence in community pharmacy, recognising businesses that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and outstanding patient care. These awards showcase the vital role that pharmacists play in Australia’s healthcare system, ensuring better health outcomes for their communities.
