Shadow Minister for Health, Chris Bowen for MP confirmed for APP2020

Organisers of the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition (APP) are pleased to announce Shadow Minister for Heath, the Hon. Chris Bowen MP will speak at the conference on Friday 20 March.

Conference Convenor Kos Sclavos said that the announcement of Mr Bowen highlights the significance of community pharmacy in national health policy.

“Many of us know the Hon. Chris Bowen MP from various positions both in government and opposition over the years.

“Now that he has assumed the health responsibility for the Labor Party, we are thrilled that he will be attending APP and presenting his position on community pharmacy,” Kos said.

The announcement comes at a key time for community pharmacy, with many States moving towards allowing pharmacists to practise to their full scope.

The National President of the Pharmacy Guild, George Tambassis, said Mr Bowen told the Guild’s Annual Parliamentary Dinner last year that Labor would support measures to improve the affordability of medicines while strengthening community pharmacy.

“We look forward to hearing Mr Bowen’s views on these important issues,” Mr Tambassis said.
The Hon. Chris Bowen will speak on Friday 20 March at 12:30- 12:45pm. For a full program and to register, visit: appconference.com
