Sydney’s Pharmacy Connect 2021 postponed

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak and extended lockdown in NSW, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia announced that Pharmacy Connect 2021 is being postponed until 1-3 September 2022.

The organisers have reassured delegates that due to the Covid 100% refund guarantee in place, registrations can be transferred to the 2022 conference or refunded in full.

Pharmacy Connect, which was due to take place in Sydney on 2-4 September 2021, is an annual national conference featuring a two-day education program, a 50-plus stand trade exhibition, and a networking and social program.

David Heffernan, NSW Guild Branch President, says that while challenging, the decision was the correct one as it puts the health and welfare of the participants and exhibitors front and centre.

“NSW community pharmacies are currently fighting hard on the frontline of a Covid-19 outbreak that is unfortunately very close to home. They are focusing on what matters most – the health and safety of their patients.

“Postponing Pharmacy Connect was a tough decision to make,” says Mr Heffernan, “this is the second year in a row that Covid-19 has prevented us from being able to meet safely as an industry at this event.”

“However, because of the learnings from last year, we had put in place a Covid 100% refund guarantee to ensure that no attendees would be out-of-pocket,” says Mr Heffernan.

Pharmacy Connect attendees, who can now receive a full refund or transfer their registration to next year’s event, will be contacted by Guild events. For any queries please email: events@qldguild.org.au or phone 07 3831 3788.
