The final countdown is on to find Australia’s best pharmacy assistant

There is only one week left to nominate a pharmacy assistant for the 2019 Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY) with third party nominations closing on Friday, May 24.

PATY National Coordinator, Deborah Scholz says everyone can get involved with PATY and nominate a deserving pharmacy assistant.

“Nominations can be made by any person, from pharmacy owners, pharmacists, industry representatives, customers, family and friends,” Ms Scholz said.

“Multiple third party nominations are also accepted.

“If you know one or more pharmacy assistants who are deserving of such recognition, nominate them before May 24.

“Successful nominees will benefit from the quality professional development opportunities that PATY provides and in return, they’ll gain practical skills and ideas to bring back to the pharmacy with a greater sense of confidence.”

Pharmacy assistants can also submit a self-nomination by June 7.

Pharmacy assistants that have already been nominated are also encouraged to respond to their nomination by June 7 to be eligible to participate in the Award.

The National 2019 PATY Winner will be announced at the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference in Brisbane on October 12, 2019.

The national winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a Guild Training course, among other rewards. State winners are also eligible for prizes.

PATY is the premier award for approximately 35,000 pharmacy assistants in Australia, recognising the important role pharmacy assistants play in the success of community pharmacy.
