A couple of minutes could change your staff member’s life

Media Release

A couple of minutes. That’s all it takes for you to nominate one of your outstanding pharmacy assistants for this year’s Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY), and potentially change their life.

The nomination could also benefit your pharmacy by making employees feel appreciated and valued, which in return leads to better output.

According to the owner of Good Price Pharmacy Ashmore, Amanda Seeto, the nomination of her staff member had a profoundly positive impact on her store, which still continues today.

“As an employer, the nomination my employee received for PATY2019 invigorated her passion and enthusiasm for her role in the pharmacy,” Amanda said.

“I would highly encourage all employers to get behind PATY2020, nominate your staff, and get the staff member to respond to their nomination.”

PATY is the premier award for approximately 35,000 pharmacy assistants nationally and provides a public platform to recognise the high value pharmacy assistants contribute to their pharmacies, the community and the industry.

In addition to the main award, PATY also features the Glucojel Super Star Award, which recognises outstanding customer service amongst the PATY state finalists.

Each PATY nominee who takes part in a state selection interview is automatically entered into the Super Star Award and is eligible to win return flights, accommodation and registration to attend APP2021.

PATY2020, which is being contested entirely online, is now open to all Australian pharmacy assistants with a minimum of two years’ industry experience. Prizes include $5,000 cash and a Guild Training course for the national winner.

To nominate one of your outstanding pharmacy assistants, go to pharmacyassistants.com/paty.

Third party nominations close on 17 August, with self-nominations and responses closing on 7 September.
