Asthma Australia has invited Advantage Group to attend the Allergy Show as the only pharmacy group at the event this weekend (July 12-14) at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The group’s pharmacists will offer advice, education and support to delegates on how to manage asthma, allergies, anaphylaxis and eczema.
Advantage Group says it trains its team ahead of winter and spring to enable them with the correct resources to support the community going into the seasons of high allergy risks.
“We’re very excited to have been asked to exhibit and participate in this year’s Allergy Show,” Advantage Group CEO Steven Kastrinakis said.
“We want to ensure that the public know that pharmacists are here as their front line of support when it comes to allergy and asthma management.”
Around one in three people will develop allergies at some time during their life. One in nine have asthma and more than one million have eczema.
The pharmacists will have educational materials on asthma first aid, nasal irrigation and eczema. There will also be popular products that can be bought at any pharmacy available at the showcase.
“Our qualified team are looking forward to spending time with the public to help dispel myths about allergies,” Mr Kastrinakis said:
